Onis Avery Turner, age 80, of Rockvale, passed away December 15, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Harlan County, Kentucky and was a resident of Rutherford County.

Onis retired from International Paper after 36 years of employment. Onis enjoyed hunting, farming, fishing, gardening, working in his orchard, and riding horses. Onis loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Onis was proceeded in death by his parents, Mayo Turner and Maddie Irene Rapier Jones; his wife, Rosa Lee Turner; son, Anthony “Tony” Turner; siblings, Zelmer Turner, Ben Turner, Jerry Turner, Rocky Turner, Carla Youngblood. He is survived by sons, Ted (Verna) Turner, John (Adora) Turner; daughter-in-law, Lela Turner; siblings, Parnell (Bonnie) Turner, Sue Hall; grandchildren, Tabitha (Tony) Vongdara, Manda Turner-Adair, Sean (Ashley) Turner; great-grandchildren, Harken Turner, Tiernan Turner, Dorian Turner, Bevan Turner, Aerva Turner, Faegan Turner, Adalynd Turner, Soren Turner; special family, Lucille Hensley.

Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 PM, Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home.

Chapel service will be 10:00 AM, Monday, December 19, 2022 at Jennings and Ayers. Burial will follow in Carlton Cemetery in the Rockvale community.
