Segment One: WGNS’ Scott Walker talks with Kim Keblish, Media Relations Specialist with FEMA about assistance available to repair your home if it received damage from the storms that ripped through parts of Rutherford and Cannon Counties on March 31st into the morning of April 1, 2023.

The first step to receiving help is to set-up a FEMA profile by visiting https://www.fema.gov/disaster/4701 or by calling them at 800-621-3362. FEMA often helps with items that may not be covered by your homeowners or renters insurance, so it's important to fill out an application to receive funds for those added benefits that you don't have coverage for.

Segment Two: The Commissioner Corner, with Rutherford County Commissioner Craig Harris.

Segment Three: WGNS heads to Holloway High School in Murfreesboro to learn about a class that is focused on curbing distracted driving among their peers. In this segment, we talk to 9th through 12th great teacher Dawn Powell, who told us that in 2021, distracted driving killed 3,522 people. Her class is participating in the program, thanks to the  Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville.
