RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - The North Rutherford Family YMCA has selected Marion Appleton as its 2022 Community Impact Award recipient. Appleton is retired and has been a community campaigner for the North Rutherford Y for the past, and a member of Aquatics.

"Ms. Marion is the 'Queen' of the North Rutherford Family YMCA," said Hodge Patterson, former executive director. "Each year, she has led volunteers in campaign dollars raised. Over the past, she has secured more 3,000 during each community campaign. She is an advocate for the YMCA inside and outside of our walls. " The North Rutherford YMCA is located in Smyrna at 2001 Motlow College Boulevard, directly off of Sam Ridley Parkway.

For 148-years, dedicated volunteers have worked to strengthen their community by being part of the YMCA. For the 2022 operating year, the YMCA honored seven Community Impact Award recipients who have given of their time, talent and financial resources to advance the Y's charitable mission of helping people grow in spirit, mind and body.

These individuals have demonstrated their commitment and generosity to the YMCA's cause of strengthening community and have remained faithful volunteers, even throughout the pandemic.

Last year, the YMCA of Middle Tennessee reached 171,485 people, improving the region's health and well-being, nurturing the potential of children and teens and providing opportunities to serve others and support our neighbors.
