(L-R) Capt. Clayton Williams, Chief Michael Bowen

Focus on Crime and Law Enforcement in Murfreesboro as Police Chief Michael Bowen and Capt. Clayton Williams interact with the public.

  • Running the stop signs that are on school buses
  • speeding in school zones
  • Murfreesboro Police Crime Center (should be up and working before this summer).  This facility incorporates license plate readers, shots fired technology, public safety cameras, and other forms of law enforcement technology.
  • Traffic issues:  this is a major issue and a TRAFFIC UNIT has been staffed that specifically focuses on this problem. A part of the solution is information from the public. The MPD website now allows the public to give locations and times of day where repeat traffic issues are occuring.
  • Comments on the use of body cams.
