Mr. Richard Randall “Randy” Odom, age 73, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025, surrounded by his family. A lifelong resident of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and a friend to many. Randy was known for his generosity, quick wit and the joy he brought to those around him.

Born on July 10, 1951, in Nashville, Tennessee, Randy grew up with a deep appreciation for his community and the friendships he cultivated throughout his life. He graduated from Central High School, class of 1969, and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU).

Randy dedicated over forty years as a real estate appraiser with Pinnacle Financial Partners. His expertise and commitment to his profession earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike. Beyond his professional life, Randy found immense joy in simple pleasures – fishing with friends, reminiscing with childhood classmates, playing “Old Men’s League” basketball and softball with childhood friends, cheering for his beloved University of Tennessee “Vols” football team, and spending cherished time with his family.

A man of faith, Randy attended North Boulevard Church of Christ and East Main Church of Christ, since his childhood. His generosity extended beyond family and friends. Having been adopted himself, one of his most beloved traditions was bringing Christmas presents to the orphans at The Good Sheperd Children’s Home in Murfreesboro. He also enjoyed volunteering for Special Olympics events.

Randy is survived by his loving wife, Janet Kemp Odom; his daughter, Lashlee Elizabeth Dobson and her husband David; his son, William Tate Odom; his grandchildren, Libby Grace Dobson, Henry David Dobson, Wyatt Thomas Dobson; his brothers, Dr. Stephen Odom and his wife Deloris and Dr. Terry Odom, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Eugene P. Odom and Margaret Ruth Odom of Murfreesboro, Tennessee as well as his sister-in-law, Ann Odom.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Woodfin Funeral Chapel in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The service will begin at 2:00 pm and conclude at 3:00 pm, with visitation to follow.

Randy’s legacy lives on through the love he shared and the countless lives he touched. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
