Focus on Rutherford County with County Mayor Joe Carr:
- Mayor meets tonight (5/28/2025) with County Property Management Committee to discuss "capital projects for the next 5-10 years". Such things as expansion of the Recovery Court facility, forensic center, Plainview Public Health & Safety (off Epps Mill Rd.), Smyrna EMS (Weakly Ln.), expansion of the County Clerk's office in Smyrna.
- County's waste transfer station is now complete and ribbon cutting is 11:00AM Tue., June 17, 2025. That is also "National Garbage Man Day". This dedicates the county's new state-of-the-art 13,000 square foot garbage transfer station that is located at 6000 Landfill Rd., behind Middle Point Landfill.
- County is in desperate need for office space. The old Goldstein Building's infrastructure is too old and incapable of serving a large number of persons. Mayor Carr says, "I'm working on solutions, but too soon to know if they will work".
- (final 10-minutes of broadcast): Mayor responds to a listener's text asking about the mayor closing the courthouse on weekends when the public restrooms can NOT be used by those attending the farmers market, concerts on the square, and other community activities on the square. Mayor Carr asked "Why is it the county's job to furnish the restrooms?"
