Murfreesboro, TN - Murfreesboro is celebrating the dedicated public servants who have shaped the city’s growth and well-being with its new Legacy Recognition Program—and residents are invited to join in! Right now nominations are being accepted for retired city employees who have made a lasting impact. Anyone—community members, current employees, or fellow retirees—can submit a nomination through August 1 each year. For the program’s inaugural year, up to six retirees will be honored.
Nominate City Legacies
Selected honorees will be formally inducted as City Legacies at a special recognition ceremony hosted by Murfreesboro officials. Their contributions will be commemorated on the Wall of City Legacies in the Rotunda of City Hall, where their names and achievements will be proudly displayed.
Who’s Eligible?
Nominees must meet the following criteria:
✔ Fully retired for at least two years (unless an exception is approved)
✔ Served at least 20 consecutive years or 30 combined years with the City
✔ Left in good standing
✔ May be living or deceased
A selection committee, appointed by the mayor, will review nominations and verify eligibility.
