County Mayor Joe Carr focuses on Rutherford County:
- Strained infrastructure
- County schools challenged with loss of $11-million to new charter schools. County also losing an estimated $5-$6 million from changes to the County Powers Relief Act.
- Property assessment since State Comptroller's Office took over the Rutherford County Property Assessor's office in June 2025 due to possible errors (study resulted in discovering an 11.3% error where as the allowed error rate is 5%, thus offic is in non-complience. The State Comptroller's office took over operations of local oAssessor's Office in June 2025.
