MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) — The Middle Tennessee Christian School (MTCS) girls' volleyball team made history Thursday night, capturing their first-ever TSSAA Division II-A state championship with a 3-1 victory over Silverdale Baptist Academy at MTSU's Murphy Center.

The No. 1-seeded Cougars (31-3) dominated the tournament, sweeping Lakeway Christian in the semifinals after defeating Silverdale in the quarterfinals, as the Seahawks clawed their way back through the losers' bracket to reach the championship. Senior outside hitter Jada Burns from MTCS was named MVP, recording 27 kills on .382 hitting percentage with 4 digs to power the offense.

Fellow seniors Anna Shirley and Addison Burks contributed on the wings, while setter Bailee Culpepper's assists and libero Addison Burks' defense kept the momentum swinging. Middle blockers Addison Sain and Madelyn Grubb anchored the net, with defensive standouts Anna Geren and Kenlee Dalton sealing key rallies.

Congratulations to head coach Nicole Burks and the Lady Cougars on a stellar season.
