LA VERGNE, TN — Residents in the Woodland Hills subdivision will soon hear and feel controlled blasting as part of ongoing construction near the interstate. The work is scheduled to begin Monday, November 3, 2025, and is expected to continue for several weeks.

City officials report that the blasting is not a City of La Vergne project and is instead regulated by the State of Tennessee. Because of that, the city does not have authority over the work, timing, or procedures being used at the site.

All blasting operations are overseen and permitted through the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office, which monitors safety protocols and compliance. Residents who have questions, concerns, or wish to report issues related to the blasting are encouraged to contact the State Fire Marshal directly at (615) 741-7190 or (615) 741-2241.

The city noted that while the work may cause temporary disruption, it is a part of active development in the area.

“We appreciate your understanding as this work moves forward and thank you for your patience,” the city stated in its notice.
