BEDFORD COUNTY, Tenn. — A road rage incident involving gunfire earlier this week has led to the arrest of two individuals from Decherd, according to the Bedford County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities say the incident occurred on the morning of Wednesday, March 18, along a roadway in Bedford County, roughly 20 minutes south of Murfreesboro via Highway 231. Deputies responded to reports of shots being fired during what was described as a road rage confrontation. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Detectives quickly launched an investigation upon arriving at the scene. During the course of that investigation, a social media post shared by a community member generated multiple tips from the public. Officials say those tips were directly relayed to investigators and proved critical in identifying suspects and advancing the case.

As a result, two Decherd residents were taken into custody:

  • Isaiah Rippy, who is charged with Criminal Responsibility for the Facilitation of a Felony
  • Christopher Deal, who faces one count of Aggravated Assault and three counts of Reckless Endangerment

The sheriff’s department credited community involvement as a key factor in solving the case, emphasizing the importance of public cooperation in ongoing investigations.

Authorities have not released additional details about what led to the confrontation or whether the individuals involved knew each other prior to the incident. The case remains under investigation.
