LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WGNS) — La Vergne Fire Rescue responded to two residential fires on Wednesday morning at Hurricane Circle and Wortham Court. One person was injured in the first incident, while all residents safely evacuated during the second blaze.

Fire crews were dispatched to Hurricane Circle at 1:10 a.m. Wednesday, arriving within four minutes to find a house heavily engulfed in flames. One individual was injured and removed from the home prior to the arrival of the fire department; that person was taken for medical treatment. Battalion Chief Patrick Hood led the response of 22 personnel who brought the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes. The home was destroyed, and the Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.

Later that morning, at 8:27 a.m., a second fire was reported on Wortham Court. Firefighters arrived by 8:31 a.m. to find the house fully involved. Battalion Chief Cody Wilson served as the incident commander for the 25 personnel on scene. All residents were able to exit the home safely before crews arrived. The cause of both fires is currently under investigation. La Vergne Fire Rescue reminds all residents to test smoke alarms monthly and replace batteries as needed to ensure early detection.
