UPDATE: Two suspects accused of killing 17-year-old Yudjy Cherubin in LaVergne will face the courts next month. Bryan Berry and Marquez Hughes were both juveniles when they allegedly killed the teen after luring him to purchase an iPhone that was advertised for sale on a classified app called “LetGo.”
Bryan Berry and Marquez Hughes, who are both now 20, are being held in the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center unable to make bond.

Yudjy Cherubin responded to a classified ad for an iPhone on an app called “LetGo.” In his correspondence with the person who placed the ad, he agreed to meet them at an address that landed him in a parking lot on George Buchanan Drive in LaVergne. It was in that parking lot that Cherubin was shot and killed as his younger siblings waited for him in his car. While his brother and sister were not physically injured in the robbery, they were mentally traumatized with something they will never be able to fully release.
The 17-year old victim in the case served as a Youth Deacon at the church his family attended in Nashville.
Shortly after Cherubin was killed in April of 2018, the teens mother Dieldrine Cherubin told WSMV Reporter Forrest Sanders during an interview that she forgives the two suspects named for the murder of her son.
Berry and Hughes will appear before Judge David Bragg on October 15, 2020.
