Murfreesboro Electric's Jordan Warren explained, "The outage was a result of a series of problems, starting with a lightning arestor blowing on Rutledge Way. That caused a 3-phase fault, which in turn brought-down Murfreesboro Electric's 46 kilovolt system."

Warren noted that 1,300 customers were without power from shortly after 4:00PM until almost 5:00 o'clock.

Around 5:00PM, quick work by crews repaired the problems and the power was restored.
