The TSSAA Board of Control denied two requests from Eagleville school, one which asked to be moved down to 1A in football.

The school anticipates a dramatic drop in enrollment with the opening of Rockvale High School in the fall and rezoning that's being discussed now. But again, their request was denied.

Also denied was their request to create a protocol for member schools to be able to protest the outcome of a contest with video evidence of a mis-scoring that results in the wrong team being awarded the win.

You may recall Eagleville's complaint of a scoring error in last year's Region 4-A quarterfinal game with LEAD Academy was denied by the TSSAA. The school presented video evidence of two free throws that weren't counted. The game went into overtime, with LEAD Academy eventually winning the game.

The Board of Control approved a proposed district realignment for Division II, Class A Middle Region and Division II, Class A in football. Middle Tennessee Christian is part of this group. The proposal has been submitted by athletic directors from these schools.

Additionally, Zion Christian Academy, which plays in the MTCS region, requested o play a non-region schedule in football the next two years and be permitted to participate in the postseason basketball series. That was approved by the board.

News regarding Region 3-6A, which includes Blackman, Siegel, Oakland and Blackman in football. Warren County's request to move from 6A to 5A in football was denied by the TSSAA's Board of Control.

The TSSAA Board of Control will meet on Thursday (November 15) and will consider several requests from local schools.

Eagleville School is requesting two changes. One would be to move to Class 1A in football for the next two-year cycle. This is due to the opening of Rockvale High School in the fall and rezoning taking place. The TSSAA considers schools that had a 20-percent increase or decrease in enrollment, which could cause the school to fall into a different class.
