3rd DUI Charge, Subject Allegedly Found with Syringe in Arm

Murfreesboro Police arrested a man on a third DUI charge after they received a call about the subject allegedly passed out in his vehicle at a stop sign...

According to police, the 30 year old man was at the Monte Hale Drive, NW Broad Street intersection sitting in his truck when units arrived. An arrest report showed that witnesses found Sterling R. Moore passed out with a syringe in his left arm. The report stated, "All attempts to wake the driver were unsuccessful."

Officers had to break out the passenger side window to gain access to the man. Once in the vehicle, police were able to wake the man and then transport him to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital for medical treatment.

Inside the truck, police found a bag of white powder, "Believed to be heroin, a metal scoop with residue and one needle that Mr. Moore had previously in his arm."

Upon talking to dispatch, it was confirmed that Moore had a previous DUI in August of this year (2018) and another one in 2012.

After being released from the hospital, Moor was taken to the local jail. He will be in court on January 10, 2019.
