(MURFREESBORO) At approximately 9:44 Wednesday (3/13/2019) night, Murfreesboro Police officers responded to the 400 block of Forrest Street to a report of a female possibly not breathing. Upon arrival officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the face.

Public Information Officer Larry Flowers told NewsRadio WGNS, "The victim was taken to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital where she was pronounced deceased."

He concluded that this is an active and on-going investigation to determine how the woman received the gunshot wound.
