RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - Ongoing snow, mixed with colder than normal temperatures, has led both the city and county school systems to keep their doors closed on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Lisa Trail, Director of Communications for the city school system, told WGNS News... The Extended School Program (ESP) will also be closed both Tuesday and Wednesday in Murfreesboro.

Rutherford County Director of Schools Dr. Jimmy Sullivan decided to keep schools and the central office closed through Wednesday as well. County school communications director James Evans told parents, “In addition, all extracurricular events are canceled for Tuesday, and we are working with our athletic directors to reschedule tournaments.”

Again, Rutherford County and Murfreesboro City Schools are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. WGNS will continue to keep you informed on school closings and area cancellations.
