On Monday we told you about two dog bite victims in the city of Murfreesboro. The incidents were reported this past weekend as a mother was walking with her 18-month old son on North Maple Street. Both the mother and the child were bit by mixed breed pit bull dogs and later transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds. The two dogs were taken to the Pet Adoption and Welfare Services office on John Rice Boulevard where they will be held for the next ten days. The owner of the dog was located, but at this point does not face any charges.

We now have a second dog bite story to bring you up to date on. A 38-year old woman called police after a white German Shepard bit her on the left side of the leg while she was out on a morning walk. The victim refused medical treatment at the time of the report, but told officers she would seek care at a local clinic. That incident in the Savannah Ridge subdivision. The owner of the dog was contacted by police and she willingly took her animal to the Pet Adoption and Welfare Services office as required after a dog is accused of biting a person. No charges were filed.
