News from the TBI now confirms the identity of a man shot and killed by Rutherford County Sheriff Deputies earlier this month.

According to TBI reports, 40 year old Christopher Mullins exited his house armed with a knife. When the subject allegedly refused to drop the weapon, a deputy fatally shot Mullins.

The incident occurred in the 2000 block of Mt. Herman Road off the John Bragg Highway in Murfreesboro.

The TBI continues to investigate.
