As reported earlier, officers placed Dequarius Scott under arrest after the mother of a teenage girl reported that her daughter had been raped by the subject. Police took possession of the victims’ cell phone and communicated with Scott and he evidently invited the child to his apartment. Police showed up at the address instead of the child and took the subject, who goes by the nickname of “DQ,” into custody.

WGNS found out on Friday that when police were at the suspects’ apartment they found evidence of illegal drug sales in plain view. An incident report dated October 22, 2013, states (verbatim), “Officers in plain view in bedroom ‘D’ observed digital scales, small plastic baggies, a clear container with a lid and marijuana ‘shake’ on the desk.” “Shake” refers to the loose seeds and stems left at the bottom of a baggie containing marijuana. Two other roommates in the apartment told police they were allowing “DQ” to live in their College Grove Apartment Complex apartment even though his name was not on the lease.

The subject remains jailed and will appear in court on December 12, 2013.
