The community is invited to a reception to welcome the new Executive Director of Branches, Joshua Courtney, PA-C. The reception will be held on Thursday, September, 15, 2022 from 1-2 pm at Branches, 1102 Dow Street, Murfreesboro, TN  37130. (Guests should enter through the Weight Loss entrance on the side of the building.)

Branches was founded by Dr. Michael Courtney in 2007 to serve as a safe place for people to overcome the emotional and spiritual difficulties associated with addictions. His desire was to provide Christian counseling to all – regardless of their financial situation. After 15 years of outstanding leadership and extraordinary growth, Dr. Courtney has chosen to retire from Branches in order to devote more time to writing and speaking.

In March, 2022, Branches’ board of directors unanimously voted to appoint Joshua Courtney, PA-C, as the next executive director. Joshua began at Branches in 2016 as a medical provider, managing mental health medications for Branches clients and other patients in the community. Since then, he has accepted additional responsibilities to become an integral part of the leadership team.

Currently, Joshua oversees the entire operation of Branches, including all staff and counselors, medical programs, finances, growth and development plans, and day to day operations.

Joshua is deeply committed to Branches’ original core values of being a Christ-centered ministry that facilitates healing and hope for the WHOLE person … mentally, physically, and spiritually. He leads from a compassionate heart and pursues excellence in all areas. Guests will have the opportunity to hear Joshua speak at the reception.

Since its humble beginnings in 2007, Branches has grown to five offices in the middle Tennessee area with more than 20 counselors and pastoral counselors, 4 medical providers, and 7 administrative staff. Besides offering mental health counseling, Branches offers mental health medication management, a medically-guided weight management and wellness program, a 5-Day Intensive Outpatient program, life coaching, and support groups. All programs and services start from a biblical, faith-based foundation. Branches is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization.
