(MURFREESBORO, TN) Local authorities are investigating a theft and fraud case right now that dates back several months. Evidently, the case focuses on a couple that dined at Texas Roadhouse in Murfreesboro on November 19th of last year.

As the couple were enjoying a peaceful date night, an unknown thief creeped to their table and successfully stole the wife’s purse. After the theft, thieves attempted to use the victims credit card across the street at Sam’s Wholesale Club. At checkout, culprits tried their best to ring in $3,312.24 in merchandise. Thankfully, the transaction was declined. However, a different card was successfully used in completing three more transactions that added up to a whopping $12,388!

Now, detectives with the Murfreesboro Police Department need help from the public in identifying the individuals who were caught on camera. Security video recorded the man and woman believed to be tied to the case inside the local wholesale store during their shopping voyage. If you recognize the individuals (above this article), please contact MPD Detective Christopher Paté at 629-201-5616.

Again, the theft occurred inside a local eatery across the street from Sam’s Wholesale Club on John R. Rice Boulevard in Murfreesboro. The fraudulent transactions followed shortly after the theft. As of Thursday, January 5, 2023, the suspects have not been captured.
