RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN – Scams continue to impact local residents. James Price from the Rutherford County Better Business Bureau office said to use caution when unsolicited business knocks on your door… Door knockers can include a wide variety of scam artist; from people wanting to resurface your driveway, to those suggesting you need a new roof. Price says when in doubt… While scammer’s going from door-to-door may not be making as much money as they once did, they are still trying. That said, buyer beware.

Meanwhile, the internet continues to be plagued with crooks wanting money from hard working citizens. In this technological world, it appears that online scams are up 87% since 2016 and accounted for 56% of all scams committed over the last year.
