RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - Seth Parks dreamed of being a cop. His dream came true when he became “Deputy for the Day” this past Friday at the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh gave him the oath of office. Community Services Sgt. Gary Herron presented him with a shirt, badge and bobble head of a police officer and Deputy Laura Enright handed him a name plate.

Parks told Deputy Tyler Cravens of his dream when they met several months ago. Cravens worked with Community Services to set up Parks’ special day.  “I told him we’d try to make it happen and it happened,” Cravens said.

Parks sat in Craven’s patrol car, pet bloodhound Fred with K9 Deputy Richard Tidwell nearby and explored the Bearcat SWAT vehicle.

Sheriff Fitzhugh and the deputies hope Parks enjoyed being the “Deputy for the Day.” The Sheriff's Office thanked The Very Idea for the name plate, Fully Promoted for the custom shirt, B&B Awards and Engraving for the bobble head and Project Donuts for donuts.
